The Future Home of Parkersburg Cougars Wrestling

The Parkersburg Wrestling Regional Training Center (RTC) is a transformational community project designed to support, develop, and inspire youth wrestlers across the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Located on newly acquired property adjacent to Parkersburg High School, the facility will stand as the forever home of Parkersburg Cougars Wrestling and serve as a premier regional training destination for athletes across West Virginia and beyond.

Construction is scheduled to begin in Spring 2026, with a targeted opening in Summer/Fall 2026.

A Purpose-Built Wrestling Facility

The Parkersburg Wrestling RTC will be a 7,500+ square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, located at the corner of 20th Street and Covert Street in Parkersburg, West Virginia, just steps from the Parkersburg Field House.

The facility is being intentionally designed to support athletes, families, and the wrestling community with:

  • Over 2,500 square feet of dedicated wrestling mat space

  • Separate boys’ and girls’ locker rooms

  • A welcoming reception and check-in area

  • A designated Parkersburg Wrestling Hall of Fame

  • Parent viewing and waiting areas

  • A fully equipped weight room and cardio training area

Every square foot is planned with long-term athlete development, safety, and accessibility in mind.

A 501(c)(3) Community Project

Parkersburg Cougars Wrestling is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All eligible donations—whether financial or approved in-kind contributions—are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

This ensures every dollar, service, and material donated goes directly toward building a permanent facility that supports youth development, athletic excellence, and community growth.The Parkersburg Wrestling RTC is a community-built project, and we invite local businesses, skilled trades, families, and supporters to be part of its foundation.

Ways to Support the Project

  • Trade & In-Kind Contributions
    Construction companies, electricians, plumbers, HVAC professionals, concrete crews, flooring specialists, and skilled trades of all kinds are invited to support the build through labor, materials, or services.

  • General Construction Donations
    Individuals, families, alumni, and supporters may contribute financially toward the construction, outfitting, and long-term success of the facility.

Every contribution—large or small—moves this project forward and helps create a permanent home for youth wrestling in our community.

A Lasting Legacy

All donors and contributing partners will be permanently recognized on the Parkersburg Wrestling RTC Plaque, which will be proudly displayed inside the facility. This plaque will honor those who made the Parkersburg Wrestling RTC possible and will stand as a lasting tribute to the community members who invested in our youth.

A Regional Training Hub for All Ages

The Parkersburg Wrestling RTC will serve wrestlers from age 4 through 12th grade, providing a centralized training environment for youth athletes throughout the region.

This facility will host:

  • Daily youth wrestling practices

  • Advanced training sessions and clinics

  • Camps, team practices, and special events

  • Off-season strength and conditioning programs

Our goal is to give local athletes access to the same caliber of training environments found in nationally recognized wrestling communities—right here at home.

Our mission is to establish Parkersburg as a nationally recognized hub for wrestling excellence, while giving local youth the opportunity to train, compete, and succeed at the highest levels.

Through this facility, we aim to:

  • Develop elite athletes from within our community

  • Attract regional and national competition to Parkersburg

  • Build character, confidence, and leadership in young athletes

  • Bring state and national championships back to our home city
