Parkersburg Cougar Wrestling Dominates 2024 West Virginia Junior State Championships

PARKERSBURG, WV - In a display of skill and determination, the Parkersburg Cougar Wrestling team secured victory at the West Virginia Jr State Championships, held in their hometown of Parkersburg, WV. The Cougars amassed an impressive total of 476.5 points, clinching a decisive 42-point lead over their closest competitors, Mineral Wells, who garnered 434.4 points. Furthermore, they showcased their prowess by securing a commanding 93.5-point lead over their cross-town rivals, the Parkersburg Wrestling Club (PWC), who accumulated 383.5 points.

The individual achievements of the Cougar wrestlers were equally remarkable, with the team clinching a total of 5 WVYWA State Titles and 6 Junior State titles. Additionally, they boasted 2 belt winners and over a dozen podium finishes, highlighting the depth of talent within the team.
